OUR APPROACH TO BUILDING Since our beginning in 1978, we have been inspired by the opportunity to take strong visions for places to live, play and work and make them even better through our involvement. We are fortunate to have clients and architects who provide this opportunity and who welcome our creative input. We have been encouraged, even mentored by them to be non-traditional in our approach to building. So in the traditional role of builder, we bring something more. This is not an extra thing we do, this is simply who we are. We started small and learned early, sometimes the hard way, to hire people who knew things we didnt - people whose skills, passion for building and enthusiasm for working with others surpassed our own. This method feeds on itself, and when we had the opportunity and came across such people, we hired them. And kept them. Over time this has made us stronger as a group. Also early on, we had the opportunity to work with some very good architects on small but demanding projects. We discovered that the key to the successful projects was good communication between the owner, architect and ourselves. And so we began involving key people early in the project, and developing systems to clearly track and present information throughout the project, from inception to final plans to construction. We learned the importance of being accountable, of following through and solving problems. Today, we look for projects that will shape and strengthen our cultural environment within the context of one of the worlds most beautiful natural environments. We look for projects that have timeless qualities and a sense of place. We excel in projects that have opportunities for us to share our network of resources and apply our sense of craftsmanship. We are interested in projects that carry the highest expectations, because we love few things more than helping to exceed them. So many words. The best way to learn about us is to meet us and see our work. Talk with our clients, ask architects and then call us for a tour of our projects. Our work will speak for itself. |
