Craftsmanship is about the exploration of materials, and the mastery of the use of those materials through a time honored process that results in realized ideas and dreams. Here, the expectation to achieve true perfection would be unrealistic, but its pursuit reveals a higher purpose –– a goal that inspires great optimism in our ability to attain something greater than the sum of the parts. Our process is as rewarding to us as the successful execution of our product. This is in the tradition of great craftsmanship.

Natural construction materials are naturally imperfect, with each component and piece being intrinsically different from every other one, and each having a special character that a craftsperson learns to identify through familiarity and experience. The goal of the craftsperson is not to transform the imperfect into something perfect, but rather to recognize the potential of the material and then work with the inherent imperfections in a way that ultimately enhances the final product. This is accomplished through a reverence for wood, a sensitivity to design and a high level of technical skill.

KrekowJenningsInc Woodworking is an extension of this tradition.

We have created a woodworking design studio for Architects and designers –– a resource for the exploration of wood and woodworking, whether for casework, cabinets, furniture or accessories. We strive to have every tool necessary to perform extraordinary works, from hand tools to machine tools, and to apply the best technology solutions to woodworking. But while these tools are important, it’s the woodworkers who make the difference. We are experienced, creative and open to the challenge of finding workable solutions to unique design ideas. We combine the care and intimacy of a small shop with the capacity and responsiveness of a larger one. We are an unmatched resource.
