Sandy River Bird Blind
In collaboration with Maya Lin and supported by the Confluence Project, KJ developed details and materials to build this steel and wood elliptical Bird Blind. To accommodate the remote location and facilitate installation, the structure was fabricated in sections off site and then lifted in place.
The artwork interprets the ecology and history of the delta. Each of the sustainable harvested black locust studs is inscribed with a species and date documented by the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
